It’s been a great 18 months or so for my photography. Something about relocating to California and the peculiar alienation I experienced in Los Angeles, along with simplifying my approach and my equipment brought the images to a new place. I was lucky enough to attend my first Phootcamp (yes!) and Leica sent me to China (wha???!!!). I’ve always loved creating images. And I will continue to make them.
But: the principal reason I poured so much effort into my photography was because I found myself incapable of completing a project that had dominated the better half of 7 years; a film I am making on a long lost rock band called Walt Mink. Finishing this film is what brought me to Los Angeles, but I got in my own way for a while as I sorted through the project and steeled myself for the personal commitment that completing it requires. I hadn’t figured it out yet, and the enormity of the task ahead had paralyzed me.
Anyway. Feeling better now!!
